WordPress membership theme with custom login page designer

I am finishing a paid membership site for a writing coach. Her brand is very visual — specific colors, a signature photo on the login screen, a short welcome line below the form. The default WordPress login page is a brand killer for her and I have seen her drop off returning members purely because the login feels like logging into a cPanel. I want a theme that lets me design the login page with a split layout, a background image, and a live preview, without installing yet another plugin that I then have to maintain.
