BuddyX has both features built in as Customizer toggles, not code edits. Specific behavior:
- Sticky header: toggle it on from the Customizer and the main navigation stays pinned while members scroll long activity feeds
- Sticky sidebar: optional via Customizer, so right-sidebar widgets like popular groups or online-member lists remain visible instead of scrolling away at the top
- Left, right, or no-sidebar layout options per page, so you can make the activity feed wide while keeping sticky widgets on group pages
- Mobile-first responsive design — on phones the sticky header collapses sensibly so it does not eat vertical space on small viewports
- Deferred script loading and lazy-loaded stylesheets, so sticky behaviors do not introduce jank on long feeds
Honest limit: sticky behaviors are theme-level — they work with BuddyPress and BuddyBoss Platform feeds and any standard page, but they do not override third-party widgets that implement their own positioning. Both sticky header and sticky sidebar are in free BuddyX. BuddyX Pro adds sticky header color options, a configurable side panel for mobile, and advanced typography if you want the pinned nav to use a different font weight than the body.
