How to set up private discussion spaces for different membership levels

I am building an online course platform and want separate discussion areas for each course. Only enrolled students should access their course forum, and premium members should get an exclusive mastermind space.

Is this possible without manually managing user access for each space?

Absolutely. Jetonomy Pro has a membership adapter system that automates this entirely. Here is how to set it up:

  • Create one space per course — each space gets its own slug, description, and moderators.
  • Set access rules — in each space's settings, select the required membership level or course enrollment. Jetonomy supports MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, LearnDash, Tutor LMS, LifterLMS, Sensei LMS, and MasterStudy LMS.
  • Automatic enforcement — when a student enrolls in a course, they automatically get access to the linked space. When they unenroll, access is revoked. No manual user management.
  • Auto-create spaces for new courses — if you use LearnDash, Jetonomy Pro can automatically create a discussion space when a new course is published, with the course author assigned as space admin.
  • Visibility control — spaces can be public (visible but gated), private (only visible to members), or hidden (only accessible via direct link).

For the mastermind space, set it to require your premium membership tier. Members see it exists and get prompted to upgrade if they are not on that plan.
