WP Career Board was built with BuddyPress integration in mind, so the community layer is first-class rather than an afterthought. Concretely:
- BuddyPress member type integration, so a member's role as employer or candidate is the same identity they already use in the community, not a second parallel account.
- Activity stream integration, so job events surface in the BuddyPress activity feed your members already check.
- Three WordPress Abilities API roles (wcb_employer, wcb_candidate, wcb_board_moderator) map cleanly onto BuddyPress member types, which keeps permissions consistent across both systems.
- The company profiles block and company archive block give employers public profile pages that live in the same information architecture as the rest of the community.
- Reign Theme integration is tested and supported, which matters because most Wbcom BuddyPress communities are on Reign or BuddyX and a job board that fights the theme creates endless design tickets.
Honest limit: the integration reads BuddyPress member types; it does not create them for you. Define your employer and candidate member types in BuddyPress first, then map them in WP Career Board's settings.
