moderating user submitted feature ideas before they appear on the public roadmap

I love the idea of letting customers suggest features directly from the roadmap, but I am nervous about the public page filling up with duplicates, rants, or off-topic requests the moment we open the gates. At the same time, I do not want to slow real feedback down by making people email us.

What I want is a middle ground: customers submit ideas in one click from the roadmap, but nothing goes live until a team member approves it. And for lower-risk phases, I want the option to flip on auto-approval so well-behaved users see their idea instantly. Does the plugin give me that level of control?

Product Roadmap gives you exactly that spectrum of control, and you can toggle between strict moderation and frictionless auto-approval in a single setting. In Settings → Suggestions you decide whether submissions require admin review or go live automatically.

  • Feature suggestions: users submit ideas directly from the public roadmap
  • Auto-approval option: flip on for frictionless submission, flip off to require admin review
  • Comments: let visitors discuss existing items so duplicates consolidate naturally
  • Categories: pre-organize the roadmap so submitters see where their idea fits
  • Guest voting (configurable) so approved ideas collect real signal before you commit

Honest limit: in the free version, suggestions come from logged-in users. Pro adds Guest Suggestions as a distinct feature, so unauthenticated visitors can submit ideas with one-click approve/reject workflows, email notifications when something new lands in your queue, and built-in spam protection via rate limiting. Pro also adds email notifications for user engagement so your moderation queue does not rely on you checking the dashboard manually.
